I'm not dead! I'm just really, really, really, really busy.
I've had the most craptastic month, and now I'm leaving for the UK in two days with hardly anything to show for a year's writing work. Joy.
I'm going to be working like a maniac at night on my so-called holiday in Edinburgh so I have something to show at the London conference at the end of the month.
To say it's all gone to hell in a hand-basket would be an understatement, and when I'm not beating my head against a wall or hunched over a computer I'm trying not to retch from the stress.
Holidays! Yay!
Sigh.
So I thought I'd do at least one more post before I go just so you know I haven't given up the blog - I'm just clinically insane right now :/
Director Dave over at Fashion Addict sent me some BYS scented polishes a while back as a surprise, and I just haven't got around to posting the pics.
I was immediately drawn to the two purples, very descriptively called "Hot Purple" (Vanilla scented) and "Pastel Purple" (Cotton Candy scented).
Hot purple has a subtle silvery sheen and has a nice formula that means you only need two coats...
Pastel Purple, I had some slight problems with. It's a more translucent formula so I needed four coats, and none of the photos turned out particularly well.
It is a very nice colour when you've got it on, though - reminds me of Zoya's Miley...
So - overall I really liked these. But notice how they're supposed to be scented?
I couldn't smell a damn thing. All I got was the usual chemical smell common to all polishes.
I thought maybe I'd done something wrong and tried all the bottles out - nope.
Nada. Nothing. Maybe I have a faulty nose?
No - Mum tried as well and smelled nothing.
But you know what? I don't really care cos the first thing I do with any polish is put a quick dry topcoat on, which would probably mask the scent anyway.
The rest of the colours in this collection are really great, so I'd like them regardless.
What do you guys think of the scented polish fad? Think it's going to last?
